user1 Posted at October 21, 2008 at 04:54 PM	Model Search F.A.Q. 1. How can I apply to become a Prestigious Model/PM Girl? The Prestigious Model application is located on our homepage. PM hosts its own party promotion tour featuring themed events such as Model Searches, Calendar Launches and LIVE casting at a city near you! Please check our event calendar/ tour schedule to receive the latest information on our special appearances. 2. What else is required besides filling out the model application form? An applicant also needs to submit professional images to complete the application. Your application will not be reviewed without images being attached. 3. What if I do not have any professional images? Can I still submit snapshot images from my camera? It is highly recommended that all applicants have professional images. Snap shot images tend to yield a lower chance for a call back. Prestigious Models can provide you with a referral list of qualified photographers. Alternatively, if you are interested in having PM set up a professional shoot for you, while staying within your budget, one of our highly recommended photographers can be contacted. Feel free to email us at kim@pmgirls.com. 4. What do you look for in a model? We are looking for models that can take direction well and that enjoy working in a dynamic team environment. Individuals need to possess outgoing, friendly personalities. All of our projects require a lot of team work, where we support each other at the events, share rooms and travel nationwide as a group. PM is somewhat like a sorority for models where lifelong friendships are formed. Experiences are shared together through bookings, travels, events, etc. 5. How do I know if I am chosen? Prestigious Models adheres to a rigorous screening process. Applicants that pass the initial screening phase will receive a telephone interview. Depending on the outcome of the interview, along with other factors, a decision will be rendered regarding acceptance of your application. 6. What if I do not hear back from PM? Should I resubmit my application? Prestigious Models encourages you to resubmit your application, especially if you feel your qualifications have improved. Please submit new images for review. It is great to demonstrate persistence in achieving your goals and dreams. 7. Am I required to have experience in modeling? Modeling experience is always a plus, however it is not required. Training and mentoring will be provided to our models. 8. Do you offer internship positions? Occasionally, PM offers internship positions based on the applicant showing promise. If an internship position is available in your city, this is a great way for PM to meet and develop a working relationship with you. Interns certainly have a tremendous opportunity to become an official Prestigious Models.

This business is tough and rejection is inevitable but having a strong self worth and self-confidence will be your greatest tool to succeed. 2. Never do anything you are uncomfortable with. Do not think you have to pose naked for a photographer most likely it will hurt your image than help it. Some photographers will try to manipulate you and tell you this is how the business is…NOT TRUE!!!! If that is the case leave or do not talk to them anymore. Do not let them threaten you either. Working in New York as a fashion model my agency would send me to test w/ top photographers who have shot supermodels, celebrities, magazine spreads, car ads, etc. I have been asked to pose nude and threatened and this is by top photographers. I repeat do not let them make you believe this is how the business is because I have built a successful career keeping my clothes on. Bringing an escort is always a great idea especially if you are new to the business but not a boyfriend or girlfriend. Some photographers will not want you to but most will be fine with it. 3. Networking is key. You should put your profile on free modeling sites such as: www.brimmnetwork.com, www.modelmayhem.com, www.nextimportmodel.com, www.musecube.com Add me on there as a friend =) No need to pay to put your profile on sites these are free and a great way to promote yourself. 4. Shoot with as many photographers as possible doing tfp (time for print). Do not pay anyone. Starting out find photographers on sites that I mentioned above to photograph you for free in exchange for images. There are plenty of top photographers who do this but also amateurs. You can not be a diva starting out and expect to shoot w/ the best so shoot w/ a ton of photographers who are willing to work w/ you for free b/c you can practice being in front of the camera and get some images out of it. 5. Stay humble!!!! I’ve met too many amateur models that act like divas. Not attractive and very unprofessional. Please do not expect to be paid if you have no experience. Be willing to work for free and build your resume and portfolio.
